The short version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and makes no requests to any third party. Nothing about your visit is recorded. The only information I ever receive is what you choose to put in the enquiry form and send to me.
Who is responsible
This site is operated by Joseph W. Persteins, a sole practitioner providing data analysis services, based in Columbus, Georgia. For any question about this policy, or to make a request about your information, write to jperst4162@gmail.com.
What this website collects
Nothing automatically. There are no cookies, no local or session storage, no analytics, no advertising or tracking pixels, no embedded videos, and no social widgets. Every asset I wrote or chose, including the typefaces and the chart image, is served from this site itself rather than from anyone else's network. You are not asked to accept cookies because none are set.
One thing is added by my host rather than by me. Netlify injects a small badge
script into every page it publishes, served from this domain at
/.netlify/scripts/hud. It draws a Netlify badge and nothing else. I
have read it: it contains no network calls, sets no cookies, and does not collect,
store or transmit anything about you or your visit. I mention it because this page
says the site loads no third-party code, and that would otherwise be untrue by
omission.
My web host will keep its own standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses and request times. That is ordinary infrastructure logging, it happens before any code of mine runs, and I do not analyse it or connect it to any person.
The enquiry form
The form asks for your name, your email address, your business, and a description of what you want to find out. It is the only place this site collects anything.
Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms, the service that also hosts this site. What you type is passed to Netlify, which stores it and forwards it to me by email. Netlify processes it on my behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. Their privacy terms are at netlify.com/privacy.
The form carries a hidden field that people never see and automated spam tools tend to fill in. If it comes back filled, the submission is discarded. That check looks at the field only, never at you.
Why I hold it, and for how long
I use what you send to answer your enquiry, quote for the work, and correspond with you about it. The lawful basis is your own request and, where we go on to work together, the performance of that agreement. I do not sell information, I do not share it for advertising, and I do not add enquirers to a mailing list.
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within twelve months. Records connected to paid work are kept for seven years, which is the period business and tax records ordinarily need to be retained.
Client data, which is a separate matter
If you engage me, you will usually give me business records: sales, bookings, inventory, financial exports and similar material. That data is yours, not mine, and it is handled to a stricter standard than anything on this website.
- It is used only to carry out the project you have asked for.
- It is never sold, shared, published, or used to train any model or product.
- It is not used as a case study or example without your written permission.
- It is held on encrypted storage and returned or destroyed at your request.
If your records contain personal information about your own customers or staff, you remain the controller of that information and I act on your instructions. Tell me before sending anything, so the handling can be agreed in writing and the data minimised to what the analysis actually needs.
Your rights
Write to jperst4162@gmail.com and you can ask me to tell you what information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or provide a copy. I will respond within thirty days. Depending on where you live, these rights may be backed by law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and, for visitors in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulations. I apply the same process to everyone regardless of location.
I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and I have no financial incentive programme.
Children
This is a service for businesses and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes to how information is collected will be made before the change takes effect, not after.
